I would say your extremely limited choices ties into the complexity of the map tools, not just the popularity system. I would love for the UMS scene to expand and for the really high quality stuff to start rolling in. Those are the three major things that I can think of and if anyone can shed some more light on any of them or something I didn't mention please tell us. Are some map makers holding out on purpose for extra dosh or out of necessity due to file size limitations on a grand scale where we get jack squat filtering down? I recall seeing some very high quality mods and even total conversions going down which supposedly would only be happening when this happens, and we haven't heard shit about it from Blizzard. I'm not asking EU or NA mapmakers to buy a second account but holy shit it can't be that hard to find ONE trustworthy person and upload it to the respective community?ģ). The NA/EU divide, where we can't share maps or something? I don't really know about this one, since it seems like a really shitty reason why we can't have cross pollination going down. When the map tools were first described and all the early examples we saw I'm sure most of us were blown away and now not so much.Ģ). Then again, when I do a custom search its not like people are missing out on anything either. The "popularity" system seems to really lock in crap to the highest levels and people hardly play anything either. I'll throw out some of my own things here, maybe some people can confirm if they are accurate.ġ). The RPGs are decent (all 2 of them) and stuff like the capital ship space battle are pretty good. And now, each time I come back I hardly see anything new or for that matter, new and fun (I have very varied tastes so I'm not being a snob either). Is there any particular reason why this is happening? After beating the campaign I got into UMS maps pretty hard and had a good time, especially with the new rage tug of war style maps, but inevitably I petered off and kept taking semi-long breaks (because I got bored with the same map selection). Unfortunately, compared to Starcraft 1 and Warcraft 3, the use map settings scene seems not quite dead but damn is it limping bad. There's gun emplacement(s) and some loose loot on the 1st floor of the construction site 10m west of the orange "Machinery Key" truck. While you PLEBIANS engage in ladder play, I enjoy sitting back and enjoying some custom games for the variety therein ). Maybe someone could add a directional indicator for "one-way travel" for this jump, the portable-toilet shortcut just north of Warehouse 4, and the concrete debris ramp about 20m NW of the orange "Machinery Key" truck? The curving section of fence SW of Warehouse 4 can be jumped from the SW side of it to the NE side, skipping the entire Old Gas area. This makes a big difference if you're trying to get into Gas from the northeast. It might be good to cut a tiny gap in the fence to the left of the buried cache immediately north of New Gas the concrete fence (east-west) is tilted such that you can easily jump past the wire fence (north-south). There's a large wooden crate (loot) slightly to the east of the middle of the concreted parking lot / bus depot north of the drug lab. There's also loose loot in the "campfire" area ~2m west of the black weapon box. The Warehouse 4 basement has about 4 or 5 medical spawns clustered together in the middle with an orange med box, plus a large black weapon box in the NE corner and a valuable/gold spawn just behind it. The "loose loot" in the library should probably be instead marked high-value (about 5 intelligence spawns on the bookshelves and the floor between them). The "loose loot" spawns in the east side of the first floor of the drug lab are all actually medical spawns. If I could edit the source files I would otherwise here's tips for someone else to edit:
